Orthodontics for Teens

Not The Braces You Remember

Orthodontic treatment has long been most common among teenagers, but the treatment has come a long way. Available in a variety of styles, materials, and colors, today’s braces are more comfortable and much easier to live with. Some even verge on being stylish.Orthodontic braces are a part of life for many teenagers and continuously improving technology makes it easier to look good and feel good on your way to that amazing smile .

How Long Will This Take?

We strive to keep things simple and treatment time short! Three key factors determine the length of treatment:

1.) How early to begin treatment?

Evaluating your case early means we can monitor the growth of your jaw. That enables us to better understand if treatment should start soon or whether we should wait until you are older before starting treatment.

2.) What Needs Correction?

The amount of treatment needed to correct a problem determines how long the process takes. Every  patient responds to treatments differently.  It may take one patient 12 months to complete their treatment, while it may take another patient 24 months. Treatment times can vary depending on how quickly your body responds and how much work is needed to give you the show-stopping smile you expect.

3.) Your Commitment!

If you wear the appliances provided by Dr. Walker, as he recommends, it will streamline the length of your treatment. In addition, the better you take care of your braces and appliances the shorter your treatment time.
